Certified as a global centre of excellence by the French administration since 2005, Pôle Mer Méditerranée acts to sustainably develop the maritime and coastal economy in the Mediterranean basin, Europe, and the rest of the world.

In the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Occitanie and Corsica regions, Pôle Mer Méditerranée brings together nearly 500 members, around maritime and coastal themes with strong societal and environmental issues, scientific and economic stakeholders.

The mission of Pôle Mer Méditerranée is to sustainably develop the maritime and coastal economy in the Mediterranean basin, in Europe and around the world by bringing about innovative projects, both individual and collaborative, and by supporting the development of businesses.

Territories in which we operate

Pôle Mer Méditerranée operates along the Mediterranean coast in the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Occitanie-Pyrénées Méditerranée and Corsica region.

Together with its twin, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, they ensure joint actions to drive the maritime sector by developing innovative projects, both individual and collaborative, and by supporting the development of businesses in France, Europe and internationally.

Governance of the cluster

Pôle Mer Méditerranée places its operational efficiency at the service of innovative project leaders, under the governance of several groups of stakeholders:

  • The Interregional Steering and Coordination Committee, the consultation and coordination tool common to the Pôle Mer Méditerranée and Pôle Mer Bretagne-Atlantique;
  • The Steering Committee (COPIL) of Pôle Mer Méditerranée, which serves as its decision-making body and which grants official approval and certification to projects;
  • The Office, which strengthens the links between the Engineering and Management Team of the Cluster and the COPIL;
  • The Engineering and Management team;
  • The Funders Committee, represented by the French national administration in the Region and the financial partners of the Cluster.

Our team of experts supporting your projects

Pôle Mer Méditerranée Engineering and Management Team provides:

  • Support for each member and project
  • The organisation of strategic action areas
  • Monitoring the evolution of each strategic action area,
  • Fostering the emergence of projects through to their approval and co-financing
  • Monitoring certified projects until they become industrialised as well as supporting businesses in their growth
  • Cross-cutting actions such as international development, employment and training, communication, setting up and management of European projects, setting up collective actions, etc.

PMM organises working groups, coordinates events, and prepares steering committees.
